Meet Pastor Demetrius Davis
Pastor Demetrius L. Davis is the son of Sandy and Evelyn Wimberly.He grew up on the westside of Chicago, and in the northwest suburbs, before settling into Broadview, IL, where he finished high school. Pastor Davis graduated from Proviso West High School in 1999 and entered the Army National Guard before heading to college in Orlando, Florida.

Starting as young as age 19, Pastor Davis has operated multiple entrepreneural business ventures, from a event promotions company, to an online shoe store. He is currently the CEO of 45 Company - a custom tailoring and alterations boutique located in downtown Chicago's South Loop.

Since he received his ministry calling in 2001, Pastor Davis has attended Moody Bible Institute, served on staff as the Youth Pastor at Rock of Ages Baptist Church under Pastor Marvin E. Wiley and has also served as Chief Ministry Officer at Victory Cathedral Worship Center under Pastor Smokie Norful. Additionally, he is the Founding President of Proviso Promise, NFP, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on the spiritual, educational and social development of Proviso Township youth.

In August of 2008, Pastor Davis launched Proviso Community Church, which worships in Proviso West High School. His vision and commitment to bettering the Proviso Township Area has created a ministry that is strongly focused on being Simply Caring, Simply Community and Simply Church.In the 3 short months since its launch, Proviso Community Church is already serving 50+ attendees every Sunday and enriching lives everyday.

Specific to Maywood, Pastor Davis is involved in many organizations that are focused on the improvement of the community.He is a board member for the Maywood Community Organization, a member of the Community in Crisis Committee and helped plan the 2008 Historical Homes Housewalk with NoMCO.

Meet Karla Davis

Karla Davis is the wife of Pastor Demetrius Davis and daughter of the late George W. Evans and Rodesia Evans. She was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI., and attended college at Hampton University in Hampton, VA. She majored in Marketing and Advertising and graduated Magna Cum Laude before launching her career at Johnson & Johnson in Philadelphia.

In 2002. she moved to the Chicagoland area to work for Pepsi Cola North America as a National Account Sales Manager. She is now the youngest African American Marketing Manager in the Quaker Foods & Snacks Division of PepsiCo Chicago.

Because of her passion for mentoring and developing youth, she co-founded Proviso Promise NFP, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on enriching the lives of Proviso Township teens through educational, spiritual, and social development. The organization's inaugural event, "The Blackout", a late night Christian teen talent showcase, drew over 300 youth. Karla is also the co-owner of 45 Company, a custom tailoring and alterations boutique located in downtown Chicago's South Loop.

Specific to Maywood, Karla is a board member for the Maywood Community Organization, and helped plan the 2008 Historical Homes Housewalk with NoMCO.
